6:00AM - Residential Facilities Notification: Water Main Break Near Preinkert Field House

There has been a major water main break on campus near Preinkert Field House in North Hill.

  • This water main break is causing low water pressure in buildings across South Campus, including North and South Hill Residence Halls
  • Repair crews are on site working to isolate the break now using water main valves. Once they have isolated the break, normal water pressure should be restored on much of South Campus
  • Based on the location of the break, we anticipate that Carroll, Caroline, and Wicomico Halls will lose Hot and Cold Water Service once the break is isolated until the water main repair is complete. But, we will not know for sure which buildings are impacted until they have isolated the water main break
  • Preinkert Drive has been closed from Queen Anne's Hall down to Mowatt Lane Parking Garage

We will continue to keep you updated via email as we learn more about this repair. Once we have confirmed if any Residence Halls have lost water service until a repair is completed, we will provide a plan for alternate bathroom and shower locations.
