Home About Us Join Our Team Terp Welcome Crew

The Terp Welcome Crew (TWC) is a volunteer group of student leaders who help welcome new residents during Fall opening. TWC volunteers move in early, receive free swag, and build leadership skills while supporting new Terps as they arrive on campus.

Apply now to be part of TWC and help welcome students to our Maryland community—applications are due Thursday, July 31.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist new students and families with moving into their room
  • Answer general knowledge questions
  • Retrieve moving carts throughout the residence halls
  • Greet students curbside as they unpack their vehicles
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Promote Fall Welcome events at welcome tables

The Perks

  • Move-in early: Beat the rush and set up your space!
  • Resume booster: Gain valuable leadership experience through intentional training and service
  • Terp Pride: Welcome new students and their families to the housing community
  • Networking: Meet new people and make friends before the start of classes
  • Free food: Breakfast and lunch on move-in days
  • Prizes: T-shirts and other giveaways

Greeting families on curbside was so nice! Seeing the nervous excitement from the other side of the curb was eye opening. It drove me to be as helpful and cheery as possible to hopefully alleviate the stress.
