Move-In Day

Schedule

Our residence halls will re-open to invite new and returning residents for the spring semester during the times outlined below.

Student Group Move-In Day
International Students (New Spring Semester Residents) Friday, January 19, 2024 10:00 a.m.
Approved Early Arrivals, Panhellenic PNM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Noon
New-to-Housing Students Sunday, January 21, 2024 8:30 a.m.
Returning Residents Sunday, January 21, 2024 10:00 a.m.

Important note:
There is a televised men’s basketball game at noon on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Therefore, traffic near the Xfinity Center will increase between 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Please continue to read for suggested campus entry points, unloading, and parking realities to help reduce wait times and ensure a smooth move-in.

Coming to Campus

On Sunday, January 21, 2024, during the basketball game, we strongly suggest entering campus at Route 193 & Stadium Drive or the Main or South Gate entrances off Baltimore Ave. Please follow UMPD and staff instructions in all instances, as some roads may be closed or rerouted during the basketball game.

After the basketball game, all campus entrances are open and operational.

Unloading and Check-In Logistics

To help reduce wait times and keep traffic flowing, the unloading drop-off locations near residence halls are limited to 10 minutes. Unload your vehicle in 10 minutes or less and then relocate your vehicle to long-term parking (see details below). Honoring the unloading zone times helps out your fellow Terp families and residents by allowing them the chance to unload near their residence hall. Thanks for your cooperation!

We recommend bringing a dolly/moving cart and two move-in helpers to assist you – one to wait with your items curbside and another to move your vehicle from the unloading zone to long-term parking.
