All new students may submit building or location preferences. We recommend you review the Residence Halls at a Glance and consider least 3 preferences. You can also request an entire community and/or a specific room type (apartment, suite, double, etc...).
Students may also make mutual roommate requests by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with both of your full names and University ID numbers with the request to be roommates. We need to receive an email from both students to consider it mutual. Please keep in mind, we cannot guarantee housing requests, though we will try to honor them if possible.
The best consideration deadline for any housing request is June 30. Please bear in mind that while we try to honor as many housing requests as we can, we may not be able to meet all requests.
If you indicated on your Housing Agreement that you have a disability or chronic health condition that needs to be considered in your housing assignment, please ensure that you complete the Housing Accommodation Form and submit it to Resident Life by the published deadline. If you have any questions about any specific accommodations, please contact the Assignments Office for assistance.
All beds have regular twin-sized mattresses which require standard twin sheets (not extra-long).
We have a minimum height requirement of 6' 5" for students wishing to have an extra-long twin bed. Before we can process your request, you will need to provide documentation to confirm you meet our minimum height requirement. The documentation can be a copy of your state issued driver's license or ID card, or a note from your doctor.
After you receive your final housing assignment, please forward your documentation to Tony Prosseda by fax to (301) 314-2026 or e-mail to email@example.com. After your documentation is received, you will receive an e-mail from Mr. Prosseda confirming whether your request has been approved. Freshman assignments are made in the date-order that housing agreements are received, and based on available vacancies. Assignments are located in all of our communities. All freshman assignments are in double, triple, or quad rooms. While we strive to meet any requests that are made, we may not be able to meet all of them.
