Textbook Donation Drive

Sponsored by University Libraries

Donate a textbook, help a fellow student, be a sustainable Terp.

The University Libraries Top Textbooks program loans textbooks for the 100 largest courses on campus for four hours at a time. Popular since its inception in 2015, the program provides a free alternative to expensive textbooks.

Student groups have joined forces this year to expand the program. Conceived by the University Libraries Student Advisory Group, supported by the Residence Halls Association, the Student Government Association and MaryPIRG, and working with the Trash to Treasure program, the 2017 Textbook Donation Drive encourages students to make a difference.

One lucky donor will win a $100 Amazon gift card from UMD Libraries!

How do you donate your textbooks to the Textbook Donation Drive?

Collection bins will be located in McKeldin Library, in Hornbake Library, and at all internal Trash to Treasure collection sites. All donations will be accepted, but textbooks will be added to the Top Textbooks program only for high-demand courses. Working with staff, the University Libraries Student Advisory Group may decide to sell donations to raise funds to purchase different books or fund other student priorities.
