Overnight Stay Program
Program Overview

The Overnight Stay Program is an opportunity for prospective University of Maryland students to see what it is like to live on-campus. The program offers high school seniors who have been admitted to the University of Maryland the opportunity to stay with a current undergraduate student for one night and observe the atmosphere that the university offers its undergraduates in the residence halls.

Thank you for your interest in the Overnight Stay Program. At this time the registration period has been closed.

Please call the Department of Resident Life's Office of Programs and Outreach at (301) 314-4255 for any confirmation or cancellations you need to make.

If you are interested in visiting the University of Maryland, please register for Admitted Student Open House. For more information, please visit the Undergraduate Admissions website.

Admitted Student Open House

Admitted Student Open House is a prospective student program ran in the Spring semester which offers the opportunity for admitted students to view the University of Maryland and get additional information about the university.

While the Overnight Stay Program is coordinated in conjunction with Admitted Student Open House, the registration processes are different. Please visit the Undergraduate Admissions website to register for Admitted Student Open House.

Signs will direct you to the Cambridge Community Center (CCC) once you arrive on campus. Women should arrive at the CCC by 6:00 p.m. and men should arrive by 7:30 p.m.

Download the campus map for help with finding the exact location and view the Department of Transportation Services web site for parking information. Please plan to arrive on time, taking traffic and weather conditions into consideration, as your host will be waiting for you. If you are unable to arrive by your designated time and have not contacted us directly, we will assume that you are not coming, and we will be unable to accommodate you for the evening.

Once at the CCC, please check in at the Guest Check-In table. Announcements regarding planned events will be made and a question and answer session about the program will follow. Our staff will speak to you about the procedures, rules, and expectations for the evening, and provide you with instructions for Admitted Student Open House the following day. Once announcements are finished, you will meet your host.

Please Note: Requests for changes to assigned pairings of hosts/guests will not be granted on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, or other protected classes.
