Fall 2020 Housing Outlook

Fall 2020 Housing Outlook This fall semester started with nearly 12,000 students living in the residence halls and University-affiliated apartment communities of The Courtyards and South Campus Commons, which house many of our students in their third and fourth year of college.

Residence hall housing is allocated in the following order:

  1. Exemptions listed in the On-Campus Student Housing Strategic Plan.
  2. New Freshman students, including Freshmen Connection and certain Freshman Transfer and Other New to Housing students
  3. Returning Residents in their second year of college and certain Sophomore Transfer and Other New to Housing students
  4. Returning Residents in their third year of college and certain Junior Transfer and Other New to Housing students
  5. Returning Residents in their fourth year of college and certain Senior Transfer and Other New to Housing students

Two of every three full-time undergraduate students are living within walking or biking distance of their classes. These students are living in residence halls, The Courtyards and South Campus Commons apartment communities, fraternity and sorority chapter houses, commercial apartment complexes, rented houses, and rooms in private homes.
