Carroll Hall features the Substance Free Housing Option, an intentional community where residents are engaged in creating a supportive space for those who choose to live in an environment free from alcohol and illegal drugs. It is a three-story, coed, traditional style building that accommodates approximately 77 residents. All living quarters are comprised of only single rooms. Most academic buildings and libraries are less than a 10-minute walk away.

Residents living in Carroll Hall have access to an air-conditioned study lounge and a laundry facility conveniently located in the basement of the building. Each room is complete with data jacks for private telephone and computer use, and cable connections for each student.

Resident Life Staff

Resident Life staff are available to assist residents with a variety of needs. The Resident Life staff are responsible for managing the residence halls, as well as creating a social, cultural, and academic environment through various programs. Community Assistants and Resident Assistants serve as a main resource for the residents.

Community Assistants operate the residential community’s 24-hour service desk. The service desk (located in Prince Frederick Hall) is the central location for which students pick up mail, obtain extra keys, and make other customer service related requests. Two undergraduate Resident Assistants live in the building. One full time Resident Director, who lives in an adjacent building, oversees the Resident Assistant staff.
