First Round Interview

Resident Assistant Position Complete the application and sign up for a First Round Interview by 4pm EDT on October 5. Be sure to allow enough time to complete the entire application and interview sign-up process by the deadline.

First Round Interviews take place October 11 - 23 and are conducted by a two-person team consisting of a professional or graduate staff member and a current RA. During this 25 - 30 minute interview, candidates will be asked a variety of questions assessing their knowledge pertinent to the RA position and the skills and abilities they possess. To prepare for the interview candidates should read all application material thoroughly and be prepared to answer questions concerning their essays.

Applicants should also consider attending an Interviewing Workshop. Additional tips on preparing for interviews may be found on the website for the University Career Center & the President’s Promise.

After the First Round Interview applicants will be notified on October 30 via email of their status in the RA selection process. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in the Second Round interview.

Second Round Interview

Resident Assistant Position After the First Round Interview, selected applicants will receive an email on October 30 inviting them to participate in a Second Round Interview. Applicants must complete sign-up for a Second Round Interview between October 30 – November 1. Failure to do so will eliminate the applicant from the selection process.

Second Round Interviews will take place November 6 – 10 and like the First Round Interview are conducted by a two-person team consisting of a professional or graduate staff member and a current RA. This interview is longer than the first and will last 35 – 45 minutes. Candidates will be asked more in-depth questions relating to their skills and the RA position.

After the Second Round Interview, applicants will be notified on November 21 via email of their status in the RA selection process. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in HESI 470 in the spring semester and continue in the RA applicant pool.
